13-Oct-2009 : ALVIN STARDUST JOINS THE 2009 LBVCR

Singer and actor Alvin Stardust joins a growing list of celebrities who will be taking part in the 2009 London to Brighton Veteran Car Run (LBVCR) and will be a passenger on a 1902 Westfield in aid of BBC Children in Need.

The car's owner Paul Noon, from Pulborough in West Sussex, offered a passenger seat alongside the singer for a charity auction held on Friday 9 October, with the proceeds going to Children in Need and his local school. The winning bid was £2000 and Colin Ramsey, from Loxwood in West Sussex, will join Alvin and Paul on the world's longest running motoring event on Sunday 1 November.

As well as traveling the 60-miles from London's Hyde Park and Brighton's Madeira Drive on the unique Westfield veteran car, which is the only surviving example of the American manufactured car, Colin Ramsey will be a guest at the Veteran Car Club of Great Britain annual Dinner & Dance at the Grand Hotel in Brighton on Sunday evening.

The South East section of the Veteran Car Club will also be holding a Children in Need Pitstop at Stapleford Road in Cuckfield, serving mulled wine and hot dogs to raise money for the charity and this is being sponsored by Horsham based BMW Specialists James Paul.
