23-Apr-2004 : BONHAMS IN FOR THE LONG RUN AS EVENT EXPANDS TO 3 DAYS.

NEWS RELEASE

BONHAMS IN FOR THE LONG RUN AS EVENT EXPANDS TO 3 DAYS.

Friday 23 April 2004 - International Auctioneers Bonhams has committed to a three-year sponsorship programme of The Royal Automobile Club - London to Brighton Veteran Car Run (LBVCR) starting in 2004.

The new agreement sees Bonhams join the event's prime title sponsors Tindle Newspapers and the Daily Mail both of whom have supported and sponsored the event for many years.

Historically staged on the first Sunday in November the event this year will, for the first time, take place over three days providing more activity for participants and spectators alike.

In addition to the Concours in Pall Mall on the Saturday, successfully introduced last year, the 2004 Event starts on the afternoon of Friday 5 November with a newly introduced Auction of Automobilia and, also new to the event this year, the International Participants Welcome Reception that evening, both hosted and presented by Bonhams at their new salerooms in New Bond Street, London. These two new functions will become permanent fixtures in the annual event programme.

Robert Brooks, Chairman of Bonhams commented: As a regular participant and supporter of the Run for many years, this sponsorship agreement emphasises Bonhams commitment to the Veteran car market. By introducing these new functions this year and extending the event to three days, this really gives us an opportunity to appeal to a much wider audience

Roger Etcell, MD of Motion Works UK, organisers of the event, added, This is fabulous for the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run and will help us to focus on the key attributes of the event for the future. We are delighted to welcome Bonhams to the event especially in the year that celebrates the centenary of the youngest car to take part.

Bonhams enjoys a reputation as the fastest-growing auction house in the world with offices and salerooms in fourteen countries worldwide. Full details about Bonhams can be found by logging onto www.bonhams.com
