Busy Showcase Weekend for London to Brighton Veteran Car Run

Wednesday 31st August 2005 - The London to Brighton Veteran Car Run (LBVCR) will have a very busy weekend this coming 3rd and 4th September.

First up is the Biggin Hill Air Display taking place over the two days.

The main theme of this years' show is the 60th anniversary of VE and VJ days and the 65th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

Included in the many events taking place is a historic car display that includes several LBVCR vehicles. The cars will showcase the development of the motor car over a sixty year period from c 1900 to c 1960 and will include a 1901 Panhard et Levassor, 1902 Darracq and a 1904 Yale.

Then, on Sunday 4th September several LBVCR vehicles (all pre 1905) can be found on display along London's most famous Regent Street as part of the 2005 Regent Street Festival.

Regent Street will be closed to traffic from early morning allowing the many exhibitors and participants the opportunity to get organised and prepare for the 250,000 visitors expected from 11am to 6pm. The event is free to view.

Situated between Air Street and Swallow Street the veteran vehicles will be on show to further promote this years' LBVCR to be held on Sunday 6th November and the events International Concours to be staged for the first time in Regent Street on Saturday 5th November.

Roger Etcell, MD Motion Works UK Limited (Organisers of the annual LBVCR on behalf of The Royal Automobile Club) commented `This is our second year at the Biggin Hill Air Show and our first at the Regent Street Festival. Events like this give us a great opportunity to increase the awareness of the LBVCR, the world's longest running motoring event.

More promotional events are planned during September and October leading up to the Run.
