16-Feb-2007 : ENTRIES NOW OPEN FOR 2007 LONDON TO BRIGHTON VETERAN CAR RUN

Whilst regular participants of eligible motor vehicles for the 2007 LBVCR will shortly be receiving their entry information for this years Run, owners are also invited to pick up the new look brochure and entry application forms, which are now available to download on the PARTICIPATE page of this website.

Following the success of last years 110th anniversary event organisers are confident of reaching the maximum number of entries of 500 pre- 1905 vehicles from all over the world.

This year's London to Brighton Veteran Car Run will take place on Sunday 4th November 2007, with the Run being preceded by a period auction at Bonhams London New Bond Street Salerooms on Friday 2nd November and an International Concours in London's Regent Street on Saturday 3rd November.

Last year 496 eligible entries were received, with nearly 20% coming from outside the UK.  In celebration of this international flavour to a very English motoring event, the next four events will be related to the four countries that produced the majority of the cars in that period.  For 2007 the United States of America is the celebrated nation, where early examples of American motoring will join the many other manufacturers from around the world to celebrate the birth of motoring.  Some 20 USA entries participated in 2006 and around 40 are expected in 2007. In 2008 France will be the celebrated nation, followed in 2009 by Germany and in 2010 by Great Britain.

We have already been receiving emails from new participants following the success of last year's event and we are very confident of reaching the maximum entry of 500, said Event Director Roger Etcell.  The number of participants on the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run has increased annually since the new organisation of the event in 2004 and the move to a three day programme, along with increased public awareness through marketing and media coverage, has resulted in the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run becoming one of the UK's biggest social motoring events.

The theme this year is the celebration of the United States as a manufacturing nation and we hope to see the number of vehicles of American origin (i.e. Cadillac, Ford, Oldsmobile, Crestmobile and Pierce) increase as a result, Roger Etcell continued.  The posters and marketing material have a new design this year and features a Cadillac on the Run.   In 2008 France will be the celebrated country, a nation rich in motoring heritage and the roads between London and Brighton will see lots of early examples from Renault, Peugeot, De Dion Bouton and Panhard et Levassor.

The organisers of the LBVCR will be attending The Amelia Island Concours deElegance in the USA on the 10/11 March 2007. With Entry information and all the Options and Opportunities details. Our stand will be adjacent to the Classic & Sports Car magazine stand in the main retail area.
