04-Mar-2009 : ENTRIES FOR 2009 LBVCR OPEN EARLY
After an unprecedented demand for places on the 2008 London to Brighton Veteran Car Run (LBVCR), the organisers of the world's longest running motoring event have brought forward the Opening Date for entries for the 2009 Run to Monday 9 March. Last year the maximum entry of 550 pre 1905 vehicles was reached four months before the event got underway in November and cars were placed on a reserve list for the first time in recent history. The entry date for the 2009 Run, which will take place on Sunday 1 November, has been brought forward to allow more time for the participants and for the organisers to process the entries. “2008 was a great year for the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run, with the largest entry since the Centenary event in 1996,” said Event Director Roger Etcell. “The request for entries was phenomenal, exceeding the 550 maximum very early, but it did lead to some disappointment for owners who didn't receive an entry and this is one of the reasons for the earlier date for entries for the 2009 Run. It also allows us more time to process the entries, especially for Veteran cars that have to go through the dating process to check their eligibility. We have been receiving enquiries about places on the 2009 Run since November and I would urge all owners to submit their entry forms as soon as possible to avoid any disappointment.” Participants of Runs since 2004 will receive Fast Track Entry forms automatically from 19 February. New entrants can download a New Entry form from the LBVCR website HERE or contact the Entries Secretary Karen Cunningham on +44(0)1327 856 024 or email karen@motion-works.co.uk
