Steam Power Takes its Place on the World's Longest Running Motoring Event.jpg)
On Sunday 4 November 528 pre 1905 vehicles are due to cross the start line in London's Hyde Park for the 2007 London to Brighton Veteran Car Run (LBVCR). The vast majority of the entries are petrol driven but 19 of the 528 participants will be in charge of steam driven vehicles, a popular method of propulsion in the late 19th and early 20th Centuries.
Like the rest of the participating vehicles on the LBVCR, most of the steam driven vehicles are completely unique and range in age from the 1896 Salveson Open Cart owned by Nottinghamshire's John Brydon to the 1904 White Tonneau owned by Arthur Thomson from Salisbury.
