Participants and all those involved in the staging of November's venerable London to Brighton Veteran Car Run (LBVCR), will be considered for a new annual Award, presented by event sponsor and classic and collector car insurance specialist, Hagerty International.

The Hagerty LBVCR Achievement Award - a perpetual trophy - will be donated to the person or persons who, in the opinion of the Awards panel, shows the most meritorious contribution to the event.  Joining Angus Forsyth, Managing Director of Hagerty International on the panel is Ben Cussons, Chairman of The Royal Automobile Club Motoring Committee, James Gresham, member of the LBVCR Steering Group and Roger Etcell, LBVCR Event Director.

Angus Forsyth commented: “As the world's longest-running motoring event and the most spectacular showcase of veteran cars, we believe it is highly appropriate that the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run is the beneficiary of an annual award of this nature.”

Ben Cussons of The Royal Automobile Club Motoring Committee, added: ”This is excellent news for the LBVCR.  We are pleased to have Hagerty as an active sponsor and we welcome their initiative as a positive development to the LBVCR, our annual celebration of the 1896 Emancipation Run.”

The presentation of the annual Award represents a step-up in support to the event by Hagerty, whose international clients are increasingly amongst the 500+ participants.

Hagerty will again be the champagne sponsor at the traditional LBVCR Participants Cocktail party on Saturday, October 31st, from 6pm - 8pm at The Royal Automobile Club, prior to the Run which starts at sunrise (06.54am) on Sunday, 1st November.
