10-Sep-2008 : OOH LA LA!

Dancers from the world famous Moulin Rouge travelled to London for the second leg of the official launch of the 2008 London to Brighton Veteran Car Run.  The French Cancan dancers caused a few drivers in central London to lose their concentration as they posed for photographers with the two veteran cars of Jean-Jacque Clerico and Daniel Ward that had travelled overnight from the Moulin Rouge in Paris to London.

After the photocall the dancers performed the French Cancan as part of the presentation to the packed Mountbatten Room at The Royal Automobile Club.  Journalists and sponsors listened to the presentation by LBVCR Event Director Roger Etcell, Royal Automobile Club Secretary George Kennedy and Paul O'Neill from new sponsor Wyler Geneve.  The assembled guests were then treated to passenger rides around central London in some of the veteran cars that will be taking part in the world's longest running motoring event on Sunday 2 November.

The Moulin Rouge dancers will be back in November, performing at the International Concours in Regent Street on Saturday 1 November and then appearing at the start line in Hyde Park on Sunday 1 November before travelling down to Madeira Drive in Brighton to welcome the finishers at the end of their 60-mile journey.
