22-Sep-2009 : TICKET TO RIDE
Participate in the 2009 LBVCR by taking a London Bus For just £65 per person members of the public can have that extra special day on Sunday 1 November when they join the exclusive LBVCR Bus Tour. Leaving Hyde Park at 7.30am the buses follow the same route as the Veteran Cars through South London and onto Crawley, where there will be a stop for refreshments at the official LBVCR coffee break at the George Hotel. The tour then continues down to Madeira Drive in Brighton with the buses returning to London at around 4pm. The price includes special access passes to the paddocks in Hyde Park, Crawley and Madeira Drive so you can get a very close look at the unique veteran vehicles that take part in the Run. Each person will also receive a copy of the souvenir programme, which is and invaluable guide to the event. “Travelling to Brighton on one of the London buses, the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run takes on a different perspective,” said Event Director Roger Etcell. “With the waving crowds lining the route you feel that you are as much a participant in the Run as the people driving and riding on the veteran cars. We have three open top and three closed top buses but such is the demand all of the seats on the open top buses have been sold. However the closed top buses offer a fantastic experience and have the advantage of keeping the weather at bay if it does take a turn for the worse on Sunday 1 November. It is a great experience and one that anyone who has an interest in the event shouldn't miss.” As well as the Bus Tour, Kuoni Travel also provides visitors to the LBVCR with preferential rates and highly competitive hotel accommodation in London and Brighton so anyone can make a weekend of it and be at the start and the finish of the world's longest running motoring event.
