30-Oct-2008 : WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
London to Brighton - Where are they now? The maximum entry of 550 pre 1905 veteran vehicles, including 126 entries from overseas, will set off from Hyde Park at sunrise (6:58am) and travel the 60 miles to Brighton on the majority of the A23 via Croydon and Crawley, finishing on Brighton seafront. There are check points at Hyde Park, Croydon, Crawley, Cuckfield, Burgess Hill and Preston Park in Brighton. “The London to Brighton Veteran Car Run is one of the UK's largest free events for spectators but for the first time you don't have to attend to follow the progress of every veteran car,” said LBVCR Event Director Roger Etcell. “Every year we are asked if a particular participant has completed the Run and this year, thanks to the support of Wyler Genève, we will be able to provide the last check point the participant has reached. Because the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run is not a race this isn't a timing system but this will provide a new way of enjoying the world's longest running motoring event.” CLICK HERE to go the check point pages.
